San Francisco, California, USA. Although punk rock has been closely associated with skateboarding since the early 80s, when renowned skater Guerrero started moonlighting as a musician, it turned out he was also a huge fan of laid back, instrumental, classic funk sounds. Guerrero first came to the attention of skating fans back in 1985, when he turned pro and skated for the famous Powell Peralta group, before going on to become part of another famed skating fraternity, the Bones Brigade. He eventually set up his own skateboard company (REAL Skateboards), along with fellow pro skater Jim Thiebaud in the early 90s, but later in the decade, Guerrero began issuing his own solo albums. His debut, Loose Grooves And Bastard Blues, was released in 1998, and served intention of Guerreros formidable multi-instrumentalist skills.
