Biography
Apparently deriving their name from a Japanese sex technique, German genre fusionists Tied And Tickled Trio deliberately juxtapose elements of modern electronic music with contemporary jazz, combining sampling and editing techniques with traditional collective improvising. The unit was formed in 1994 in Weilheim, Bavaria (home to a number of seemingly incestuous bands including Console, Couch, Notwist and Blond) and although claiming themselves a trio, the collective actually features Micha Acher (trumpet, double bass), Markus Acher (drums, programming), Johannes Enders (tenor saxophone, piano), Christoph Brandner (drums, sampler) and Andreas Gerth (keyboards, theremin).
