Biography

Country pop band formed in 2004 by US singer-songwriters Michelle Branch (2 July 1983, Flagstaff, Arizona, USA) and Jessica Harp (b. USA). Branch had enjoyed notable commercial success in 2001 with pop rock hits including ‘Everywhere’, ‘All You Wanted’ and the Santana duet ‘The Game Of Love’. Her friend Harp had worked with Branch during this period as a backing singer. The duo began writing together in 2004 and made their first appearance of note later in the year performing Branch’s song ‘The Good Kind’ on the teen television drama One Tree Hill. The highly melodic single ‘Leave The Pieces’, written by Billy Austin and Jennifer Hanson, enjoyed some success on country radio at the start of 2006. Both tracks appeared on Stand Still, Look Pretty, which was released on the Maverick label in March.
