Biography
With a sound that instantly brings to mind classic 60s jangle pop bands such as Buffalo Springfield and the Byrds, the Tydes roots lay in two earlier bands, the Los Angeles, California, USA-based pop rock unit Shadowland (active during the late 80s and early 90s) and indie rockers Further (which recorded in the early to mid-90s). Both bands paired Darren Rademaker with his older bass playing brother, Brent, but both were quite different than the sound they created in the Tyde. Formed in 1998, the Rademaker brothers found a few other musicians who shared their retro musical vision, including Darrens wife Ann Do (keyboards), Ben Knight (guitar), Chris Gunst (drums) and Dave Scher (lap steel). The latter two musicians, along with Brent, performed double duty in another Los Angeles band, Beachwood Sparks.
