Biography
One of the forerunning creative forces within rap music, comprising original members Kool Moe Dee (Mohandas DeWese, 8 August 1962, Harlem, New York, USA), L.A. Sunshine, Special K and DJ Easylee. They were formed in 1978, and released the following years debut single New Rap Language on Enjoy Records. From its title to its dialogue, it predicted the new age of black rap music. It was followed by hip-hop standards Body Rock and Feel The Heartbeat, before the group moved to Sugarhill Records for At The Party, Action and Yes We Can Can. In 1986, Kool Moe Dee left to record his debut solo set. The other members also pursued their own projects in the interim. However, in March 1994 the original line-up reunited to perform on Old School Flava.
