Biography
The Silvertones were a vocal trio comprising Carl Grant, Delroy Denton and Keith Coley. Curiously, although the group did not serve their apprenticeship at Coxsone Dodd’s Studio One, they are remembered as Studio One legends. In 1975 they released Silver Bullets, which won critical acclaim but failed to make any impression on the charts through inadequate marketing. Four years later, they achieved an enormous hit with ‘I Want To Be There’. This was followed by the equally successful releases ‘Smile’, ‘Stop Crying’, ‘Have A Little Faith’ and ‘Come Forward’, the latter track being credited with the Brentford Rockers, recorded in 1979.
