Biography
By fusing Velvet Underground -inspired avant garde music and shamanic, experimental eclecticism, from 1992 onwards, the No-Neck Blues Band aka NNCK, along with fellow New York, USA act the Tower Recordings, were equally charged with initiating what would eventually be referred to as the freak folk or new weird America movement. Although acts such as Californias Brightblack Morning Light and Pennsylvanias Espers would go on to gain post-millennial recognition with a softer, rounded, less abrasive approach to this style of music, from 1995 onwards this sprawling, prolific collective generally issued over an album a year of free-form mood music to an expectant underground audience.
