Biography

Twin sisters Peggy Jean and Patsy Ilene Lynn (6 August 1964, Goodlettsville, Tennessee, USA) have Loretta Lynn for a mother and Crystal Gayle for an aunt. Loretta named Patsy after her best friend, Patsy Cline. They were taken on the Grand Ole Opry stage when only three weeks old and as soon as they could sing, they were appearing in Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville. As adults, they formed their own band, the Honk-A-Billies, often performing at Tootsie’s and telling no-one of their family background. They were signed to Reprise Records on their own merit, but once the label knew of their mother, they became the Lynns. They wrote several songs on their 1998 debut album, and often write with Patsy’s husband, Philip Russell. The Lynns has a solid, rockabilly sound with good harmonies, but they have left their foray into mainstream showbusiness a little late.
