Biography
A family blues group formed in Gary, Indiana, USA, in the late 60s, the Kinsey brothers were taught by their father, Big Daddy Kinsey (Lester Kinsey, 18 March 1927, Pleasant Grove, Mississippi, USA, 3 April 2001), a blues harpist and slide guitarist. As well as the delta tradition he also introduced them to gospel and soul, and it is the marriage of these influences which has dominated their output. Donald Kinsey (b. 12 May 1953, Gary, Indiana, USA; vocals/guitar) and Ralph Woody Kinsey (b. 1952, Indiana, USA; drums) were inspired by receiving their first instruments before either were five years old. Later they joined their father in the family act and toured with another blues maestro on the Big Daddy and B.B. King Jnr package.
