Biography
A husband and wife team of Maura (Maura Boudreau, Syracuse, New York, USA) and Pete Kennedy (b. Washington, DC, USA), the Kennedys play jangly folk pop shot through with the influences of the Byrds and Beatles. The couples first date came at Buddy Hollys grave in Lubbock, Texas, while their first gig was held in Liverpool as part of Nanci Griffiths Blue Moon Orchestra. Working in tandem, they discovered a shared love for American roots rock n roll and British pop and folk rock. The Kennedys made a strong impression in 1995 with the release of their Green Linnet Records debut, River Of Fallen Stars. Pete Kennedys exquisite Rickenbacker guitar tones gelled easily with his partners sweet voice and her own rhythmic guitar playing.
