Biography
While they are often tagged as emo (emotional hardcore), the slow moving, roots music that the Omaha, Nebraska, USA-based outfit the Good Life composes could serve as the perfect soundtrack for a dreary, rainy Sunday. The band contains several members, but it is widely understood that the Good Lifes leader is Cursive lead singer and guitarist, Tim Kasher. Specializing in sparse songs that contain unmistakable roots rock elements (with lyrics that often chronicle lifes disappointments), the Good Life started out as a Kasher solo project, as evidenced by the 2000 debut, Novena On A Nocturn, that featured a non-permanent band backing him up. Soon after however, Kasher opted to assemble a permanent line-up to function as a real band, as Jiha Lee (keyboards), Roger Lewis (drums), Landon Hedges (guitar/bass), and Ryan Fox (multi-instruments) were all enlisted into the Good Life.
