Biography
A tough, R&B-fired rock band, the Godfathers centred on brothers Peter and Chris Coyne (London, England). The groups beginnings were in the south London punk quartet Sid Presley Experience (the Coynes on vocals and bass, plus Del Bartle - guitar, and Kevin Murphy - drums) who released two singles in 1984 and toured with Billy Bragg on the Jobs For Youth tour. They split in 1985 and Bartle and Murphy toured as the New Sid Presley Experience before recruiting Mad Dog Lucas and forming the Unholy Trinity. The Coyne brothers also retained the Sid Presley moniker for a while but having recruited Mike Gibson (b. London, England; guitar), Kris Dollimore (b. Isle Of Sheppey, Kent, England; guitar) and George Mazur (b. Bradford, Yorkshire, England; drums), they became the Godfathers.
