Biography
The adoption of a shared moniker clearly alludes to a Ramones influence, but this all-female four-piece band from Palo Alto, Northern California, USA can also lay claim to influences ranging from AC/DC, Kiss and a whole host of other big-haired arena rockers. Donna A (Brett Anderson, 1979, California, USA; vocals), Donna C (b. Torrance Castellano, 1979, California, USA; drums), Donna F (b. Maya Ford, 1979, California, USA; bass), Donna R (b. Allison Robertson, 1979, California, USA; guitar) formed Ragady Anne while in high school in Palo Alto. After practising R.E.M. , Shonen Knife and L7 covers in Castellanos garage, a 7-inch single was released by Radio Trash Records in 1994. The quartet then changed their name to the Electrocutes, and played shows around the San Francisco area under this moniker.
