Biography
Formed in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, in 1957, the Crescendos were a vocal quintet including high school friends lead singer George Lanuis, his cousin Jim, Kenneth Brigham, Tommy Fortner and Jimmy Hall. Discovered by disc jockey Noel Ball, they signed with the local Nasco label and recorded Oh Julie, a song co-written by Ball. The single climbed to number 5 in the US chart but the groups three follow-up singles failed. Although they toured following the singles success, the group went its separate ways within a year.
