Biography

A brother and sister rockabilly act, Larry Collins (4 October 1944, Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA) and Lorrie Collins (b. Lawrencine Collins, 7 May 1942, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, USA) recorded numerous singles for Columbia Records in the 50s and early 60s that are revered by fans and collectors of early rock 'n' roll but never dented the charts. The duo gained what little recognition it had through frequent television appearances. Lorrie Collins was the first of the siblings to enter showbusiness. At the age of eight she won a singing contest and two years later the family moved to Los Angeles. Guitarist Larry joined his sister's act in 1954, after having won contests on his own through his prodigious musicianship. After the pair won a talent contest together, they were hired to perform for a television programme called Town Hall Party on which they soon became regulars, appearing on every programme.
