Biography
Originally formed in 1999 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, the Cat Empire started off as a trio comprising Oliver McGill (1981, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; keyboards/vocals), Ryan Monro (b. 26 July 1981, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; bass/vocals) and Felix Riebl (b. 1 May 1981, Hawthorn, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; percussion/vocals). By 2001, the band had expanded into a six-piece, recruiting new members Harry James Angus (b. 11 June 1982, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; trumpet/vocals), Will Hull-Brown (b. 11 August 1982, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; drums) and Jamshid Khadiwhala (decks/percussion).
