Biography
The release of Tha Dogg Pounds debut album in 1995 came at a time when their mentor and the best-known member of the Death Row Records / Dr. Dre enclave, Snoop Doggy Dogg, had just gone on trial charged with murder. The Los Angeles, California-based duo of Dat Nigga Daz (Delmar Arnaud, 25 May 1973, Long Beach, California, USA) and Kurupt Tha Kingpin (b. Ricardo Brown, 23 November 1972, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) made their debut on Doggs multi-platinum Doggystyle, and were largely responsible for 1994s Murder Was The Case movie soundtrack, which introduced a sound that used Dres patented G-funk formula as a launching pad.
