Biography

24 September 1984, Menlo Park, California, USA. Eigsti was born into a highly musical family, with his mother, father and sister all playing piano. Playing the same instrument from early childhood, he was hailed as jazz pianist before he entered his teenage years. A fan of David Benoit, he opened a concert for the pianist when he was aged nine. Over the next few years Eigsti was brought on stage to perform with artists such as Dave Brubeck, Red Holloway and James Moody. He also studied and taught, at the age of 15, at Stanford University’s Jazz Workshop. Among prestigious venues at which Eigsti has performed is Tanglewood, and he has also appeared on Marian McPartland’s radio show, Piano Jazz. In 2004 he played George Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody In Blue’ in concert with the Reno Symphony Orchestra, and he led a trio on a jazz cruise, his sidemen being Brubeck’s sons, bass player Chris and drummer Dan.
