This disparate group of musical mavericks is drawn from the membership of several of America’s more avant garde groups, most notably cLOUDDEAD, Themselves and 13 & God. Doseone (Adam Trucker, 21 April 1979, Idaho, USA; vocals, samples), Jeffrey ‘Jel’ Logan (b. Illinois, USA; drum machine), Jordan Dalrymple (b. San Diego, USA; drums, guitar, synthesizer, vocals), Dax Pierson (b. Oakland, California, USA; vocals, harmonica), Alexander Kort (b. Oakland, California, USA; cello), and Marton Dowers (b. Honolulu, Hawaii, USA; woodwind, synthesizer) met in Oakland, California in 2001, and bonded over a love of bands with a left-of-centre mentality such as Can, Tortoise and Steely Dan.
