Biography

This blues- and soul-influenced rock band, formed in Austin, Texas, USA, features the highly regarded vocals of singer Malford Milligan. For the group’s first release, on the now defunct November Records in 1994, Storyville was effectively just Milligan with friends and studio professionals, including former Stevie Ray Vaughan associates Chris Layton (1955, Corpus Christi, Texas, USA; drums) and Tommy Shannon (b. Tucson, Arizona, USA; bass). Guitarists David Grissom and Dave Holt also contributed. After the album was released it won six 1995 Austin Music Awards, including that for Best Band, and Milligan opted to retain all four of the previously named musicians as permanent members of the unit.
