Biography
9 July 1972, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Playing drums from an early age, Moore drew upon several aspects of the rich music scene of New Orleans. Based in the city, in the early 90s he played regularly with Galactic, a funk band for which his assertive drum style was admirably suited. Meanwhile, Moore was studying music and business at Loyola University and soon after graduating, he and Galactic embarked on a US tour and eventually, during the bands decade-long existence, world tours. Among other musicians with whom he worked while with Galactic were guitarist Charlie Hunter and saxophonist Skerik and he later played in a trio (Garage A Trois) with these two artists. In the early 00s he was heard mainly leading his own bands, including Moore And More, but also played in Garage A Trois, with Hunter, Skerik and vibraphone player Mike Dillon, and in the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars.
