Biography

Based in Michigan, USA. SRC evolved out of the area’s turbulent garage-band scene and local groups the Tremelos, the Chosen Few and the Fugitives. Initially known as the Scott Richard Case, the group - Scott Richardson (vocals), Gary Quackenbush (lead guitar), Steve Lyman (second lead guitar), Glenn Quackenbush (organ), Robin Dale (bass) and E.G. Clawson (drums) - recorded a handful of local releases before truncating their name to SRC and signing with Capitol Records. The six members, at first, all lived together and the group’s self-titled debut album reflected their collective spiritual aims. The best-known track, ‘Black Sheep’, became an underground hit when released as a single, while a love of British rock, in particular Procol Harum and the Pretty Things, was apparent on some of the other performances.
