Comprising Royston Langdon (lead vocals/bass), Antony Langdon (guitar/vocals), Richard Steel (lead guitar) and Jonny Cragg (drums), the origins of Spacehog can be traced back to early 1994 when Antony Langdon met Cragg at a seedy espresso bar where he was employed killing rodents. After recruiting brother Royston and guitarist Steel, the group began to cultivate their reputation in the fertile East Village music scene of New York, USA. Despite their origins in New York, in actuality the members of the band are all drawn from Leeds, Yorkshire, England. They supported Tripping Daisy through their 1995 autumn dates before signing to WEA Records. Their original name Grass was changed to Spacehog when Supergrass made their breakthrough in the UK.
