Biography
Donald R. Ewing, 6 March 1965, Redlands, California, USA. Because he was born into a military family, Ewing travelled extensively as a child. His father bought him a guitar when he was four years old and he became hooked on country music and, in particular, Merle Haggard. In 1984, after graduating, he moved to Nashville as a songwriter and the first track to be recorded was One Hell Of A Song by George Jones. Jimmy Bowen signed him to MCA Records and he had US country successes with Your Memory Wins Again and Burning A Hole In My Heart. Five hits came from his first album and his style was likened to Randy Travis and Don McLean. Ewing continues to write songs for other artists and compositions have included You Leave Me Like This (Lorrie Morgan), Who Needs You (Lisa Brokop) and the superb ballad Still Under The Weather (Shania Twain).
