Sinitta Renay Malone, 19 October 1966, Seattle, Washington, USA. The daughter of singer Miquel Brown, Sinittas brand of manufactured disco-pop was aided by competent studio production and songwriting assistance by a variety of talent, namely the Stock, Aitken And Waterman team, plus, at various times, Ralf Rene Maue, Paul Hardcastle and James George Hargreaves. Though she was born in America, Sinitta attended boarding school in Britain from an early age. In 1980, she gained a part in The Wiz, and later stage appearances included a part in the David Essex musical, Mutiny. Her pop career was launched when So Macho/Cruising, which had originally stalled at UK number 47 in March 1986, climbed to the number 2 position three months later. Sinittas pleasant appearance went a long way in securing, for a while, constant coverage in the British teen pop magazines.
