Leonel García (Mexico; guitar) and Noel Schajris (b. Argentina; piano) have been dubbed the Latin Simon & Garfunkel although the duos sentimental Latin pop probably has more in common with the less frenetic Irish boy bands Westlife and Boyzone. Having met while working on songs for other people, and with Schajris having already released a solo album, the duo adopted the moniker Sin Bandera (without a flag) because of their mixed heritage and music can go beyond frontiers and anyone can listen to it in any language. Certainly, the duo struck a chord, their eponymous 2002 debut selling in excess of one million copies and earning two Latin Grammys. The single, Entra En Mi Vida, was appropriated as the theme tune to Mexican soap opera Cuando Seas Mia.
