Biography
This Canadian post-hardcore unit first began playing together in 1998 and was originally based in the members native Ontario. The line-up took shape around Shane Told (13 February 1981, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada; vocals), Josh Bradford (guitar), Paul Koehler (b. 9 September 1983, Burlington, Ontario, Canada; drums), and Richard McWalter (guitar), with this line-up recording the independently released EP Summers Stellar Gaze in 2000. Bill Hamilton (b. William Francis Alexander Hamilton, 13 August 1984, Burlington, Ontario, Canada) joined on bass the following year, allowing Told to concentrate on vocals, and Neil Boshart replaced McWalter on the bands second EP, When The Shadows Beam. The buzz around Silverstein caught the attention of the hip Chicago-based Victory Records label, for whom the quintet completed When Broken Is Easily Fixed.
