Biography
One of the greatest exponents of pomp rock, Shooting Star exploded onto the scene during the 80s. An American outfit with a strong line-up of Van McLain (vocals/guitar), Gary West (guitar/vocals/keyboards), Charles Waltz (vocals/violin), Ron Vernin (bass) and Steve Thomas (drums), they consistently released solid albums, possibly reaching a peak with Ill Wishes. Their music was full-blooded with magnificent harmonies and enormous choruses. Following 1985s Silent Scream the band seemed to go into hibernation, during which time Gary West and Charles Waltz left for pastures new. Its Not Over continued where the other albums left off, with the title seeming to be particularly apt.
