Biography
23 May 1958, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. The daughter of country singer Dottie West, it seemed natural that she should follow her mother into showbusiness. Raised in Nashville, after completing her high school education in 1975, she sang backing harmonies for her mother. In 1977, she married Allen Frizzell (Lefty and David Frizzells youngest brother), who was her mothers band leader. They moved to California, where they joined David Frizzell and played the club circuits over several states. She began to sing with David and in 1981 charted a US country number 1 with Youre The Reason God Made Oklahoma, which featured in the Clint Eastwood film Any Which Way You Can. Further country Top 10 hits followed, including A Texas State Of Mind and I Just Came Here To Dance. In 1982, their duet Please Surrender was used by Eastwood in his filmHonky Tonk Man.
