Biography

6 March 1972, Newark, New Jersey, USA. O’Neal shot to fame as the star of the previously obscure Orlando Magic basketball team (‘Rookie Of The Year’ in 1992). After the media picked up on his demonstrative play, notably his cult slam-dunk action, he emerged as a major multi-media star of the early 90s - so much so that a contract with Jive Records was just around the corner. His generally sport-related raps such as ‘(I Know I Got) Skillz’ and ‘Shoot Pass Slam’ kept the cash-tills rattling, the latter song being the soundtrack to the Reebok commercials of which he was the high-profile star.
