3 May 1968, Modesto, California, USA. Minor, a distant relative of Wyatt Earp, was raised on a cattle ranch and started bull riding when he was 13. He joined the Los Angeles Police Department for five years and sang to his colleagues as a way of blotting out the horrors that his work entailed. His demo tape attracted the attention of the producer, Dann Huff, who worked with him for several months in order to come up with a distinctive sound. His 1999 debut, Shane Minor, features strong country-pop songs such as the minor US country hits, Slave To The Habit and Ordinary Love.
