Decades: 1990s 2000s

Alternative CCM outfit Seventh Day Slumber hails from Dallas, Texas, and blend a melodic post-grunge approach with Christian messages. Frontman Joseph Rojas was inspired to form the band after a lengthy crack addiction spawned a suicide attempt, a heart attack, and a subsequent religious conversion. The group’s debut, MATTHEW TWENTY FIVE, named after the biblical citation, appeared in 1999, laying down the blueprint for their sound. Seventh Day Slumber has continued to record and perform regularly, releasing the albums PICKING UP THE PIECES (2003), FINALLY AWAKE (2007), and TAKE EVERYTHING (2009), among others.
