Biography

A synthesis of new technology and the traditional grindcore logarithms of pounding bottom end drums and bass, Scorn are a UK duo of ex-Napalm Death personnel Mick Harris (drums; also a member of Painkiller) and Nick Bullen (bass, vocals) - initially helped out by a further former member of that band, Justin Broadrick (guitar). A debut album and attendant single, Vae Solis and ‘Lick Forever Dog’, were produced by John Wakelin at Rhythm Studios in Birmingham. Setting out on the road with Cancer and Pitch Shifter to promote this primeval slab of white noise, the group were joined by Candiru guitarist Pat McCahan, who replaced Broadrick (now fully occupied with Godflesh). A five-track, 40-minute 12-inch single emerged in October 1992, ‘Deliverance’, followed by the White Irises Blind EP.
