1972, Burnsville, Minnesota, USA. One of the rising stars of the American CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) scene, pianist and singer-songwriter Groves made her name in the early 00s with a series of albums on the Nashville, Tennessee-based INO Records label. She studied History and English at the Springfield, Missouri-based Evangel University, and then relocated to Rosemount, Minnesota to teach at high school. During this period Groves continued to write and play her own material, something she had been doing since her early teens. Her debut album was originally recorded as a gift for family and friends, but was picked up by an independent label and released in 1998. Groves took the chance to dedicate herself to music, launching a full-time music ministry with her husband and releasing her second album, Conversations, the following year.
