Biography
From Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, this long-serving hardcore punk band take obvious influence from both the Subhumans and D.O.A. Formed in 1982, their line-ups have always centred around Mr. Chi Pig (Ken Chinn; vocals) and brothers Brent and Marc Belke (guitar), with the rhythm section changing with almost every successive album. One of their early drummers, Jon Card, would later join D.O.A.. SNFU (Societys No Fucking Use) have persevered over the years with a formula encompassing largely headlong adrenaline rushes. The most significant interlude was 1986s If You Swear, Youll Catch No Fish, slick titles such as Better Homes And Gardens indicating a growing maturity in the way they conveyed their lyrical gaze. Previously, overtly obvious joke anthems such as Cannibal Cafe had been their let-down.
