Biography
29 November 1962, London, England. Described by some as the quintessential acid-jazz guitarist, Jordan has an intimate and readily accessible musical demeanour that has endeared him to many. By the mid-90s he had disassociated himself with the acid-jazz movement, commenting that the way I see acid-jazz, its more of a fashion statement and Im not really about that. Nevertheless, the high profile of the genre had served him well. After signing to Island Records subsidiary 4th & Broadway Records in 1991, Jordan released two acclaimed albums and participated in a number of collaborative projects. He also enjoyed a UK Top 40 chart hit in 1992 with a funked up cover version of Miles Davis So What. His 1996 release Light To Dark was a more restrained, mature collection, designed to appeal to jazz purists for the first time.
