Biography
A Nashville, Texas, USA-based trio comprising Ranger Doug aka The Idol Of American Youth (Douglas B. Green, 20 March 1946, Great Lakes, Illinois, USA; guitar, baritone vocals), Woody Paul aka King Of The Cowboy Fiddlers (b. Paul Woodrow Chrisman, 23 August 1949, Nashville, Tennessee, USA; fiddle, guitar, banjo, tenor vocals) and Too Slim (b. Fred LaBour, 3 June 1948, Grand Rapid, Michigan, USA; string bass, lead vocals). The original trio joined forces in 1977. Before Chrisman joined, both Bill Collins and Tommy Goldsmith had played as lead guitarists. The present trio formed their act to recreate (perhaps a little tongue-in-cheek) the music and entertaining facets of western outfits such as the Sons Of The Pioneers and Riders Of The Purple Sage. Their fine harmonies and yodels are supported by sketches, humour and even rope-spinning and similar tricks.
