Biography

1950, Florida, USA. Singer-songwriter, Rick Roberts came to the attention of Chris Hillman while performing in clubs in Los Angeles, California, USA. In April 1970 Hillman invited him to join the Flying Burrito Brothers as a replacement for Gram Parsons. The band’s third album is marked by Roberts’ songwriting skills and melodic voice. Windmills was recorded while the singer was still a member of the Burritos. It confirmed his undoubted talent, a feature emphasized by the all-star cast supporting him. Hillman, David Crosby and Jackson Browne joined three members of the Eagles on the recording sessions.

Buoyed by the album’s success, Roberts left the Flying Burrito Brothers in 1972. On She Is A Song Roberts was joined by members of Poco and Joe Walsh’s Barnstorm, and it was equally assured. In 1975, he formed Firefall, an AOR act that also featured ex-Byrds / Burrito Brothers drummer Michael Clarke and ex-Spirit bass player...
