9 September 1949, Jersey City, New Jersey, USA. After establishing a career as a composer in film, television and pop music, the Emmy award-winning Klein first attracted the attention of the jazz world in the mid-90s with the release of Randy Kleins Jazzheads. On this set, he displayed his abilities as singer and lyricist, abilities that were enhanced with further albums, including a duo excursion with bass player Harvie Swartz that was well conceived and executed with great flair. He has continued to work in theatre, collaborating with librettist/lyricist Isidore on the dance musical Move! and Capture The Moon, a work based on Eastern European folk stories. His jazz reputation continued to spread with the release of the Motown Records covers album, Just My Imagination in 1998.
