Biography

Paul E. Huston, 2 April 1967, Amityville, Long Island, New York, USA. Alongside Daddy-O, Prince Paul is the second of Stetsasonic’s founding members to enjoy notable extra-curricular activities. Similarly his production credits take pride of place in his list of achievements. Probably his proudest moment came in helming De La Soul’s 1989 classic 3 Feet High And Rising, though other credits include the Fine Young Cannibals, Boogie Down Productions, MC Lyte, and Big Daddy Kane. His other notable productions included the anti-crack ‘You Still Smoking That Shit?’, and ‘Don’t Let Your Mouth Write A Check That Your Ass Can’t Cash’. He set up his own Doo Dew label in the 90s, with signings including Resident Alien. However, by 1994 the contract with the label’s sponsors had turned sour and he embarked instead on a collaboration with old-Stetsasonic hand Fruitkwan as part of the rap super group Gravediggaz.
