Biography
The Seattle, USA rock scene had become a ghost of its formal self by the late 90s, but several new bands from the area began to put it back on track in the early twenty-first century, notably Vendetta Red and Pretty Girls Make Graves. Specializing in punk sounds of yesteryear, Pretty Girls Make Graves was formed by Andrea Zollo (vocals), Jason Clark (guitar), Nathen Thelen (guitar), Derek Fudesco (bass), and Nick DeWitt (drums). Formed in 2001, all of its members were Seattle veterans, having played in a variety of other previous bands, including Death Wish Kids (Zollo), Kill Sadie (Clark), the Bee Hive Vaults (DeWitt and Thelen), and Murder City Devils (Fudesco). The quintet quickly attracted attention locally owing to their live show (especially Zollos unpredictable onstage hi-jinx), and in 2002, issued a four-track EP, Pretty Girls Make Graves, on the tiny Dim Mak label.
