Biography
This theatrical rock act was formed by Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell (Perry Bernstein, 29 March 1959, Queens, New York City, New York, USA) in 1992, following the demise of his previous act. Enlisting former bandmate Stephen Perkins (b. 13 September 1967, Los Angeles, California, USA; drums), and new recruits Martyn LeNoble (b. 14 April 1969, Vlaardingen, Netherlands; bass), and Peter DiStefano (b. 10 July 1965, Los Angeles, California, USA; guitar), Farrell began developing his new band’s direction during their low-key live debut on the Lollapalooza II second stage. With Farrell’s creative input and Perkins’ rhythmic talents, similarities between Porno For Pyros and Jane’s Addiction’s recorded output were inevitable, but the subtle shift in musical direction became more obvious in the live setting.
