London, England. Levi showed his natural talent for music at a very early age, taking up the piano at the three years old and joining a gospel choir at the age of seven. As a child Levi was an avid record collector, having particular interest in bands and artists from the 60s and 70s such as Jimi Hendrix, Syd Barrett, and Marvin Gaye. Levi made a life-changing move in 1997 when he moved to Liverpool and founded a squat in a dilapidated Victorian house, which is where he was to meet Snap Ant and Karl Webb. Levi then started his first band with the aforementioned pair called Super Numeri, fusing Krautrock with British psychedelia to stupor-inducing effect. The band became well known in the underground music scene around Liverpool, and eventually caught the eye of London hip-hop label Ninja Tune Records. In 2003 Super Numeri released their debut Great Aviaries, which was well received but did not really sell enough units to give them too much freedom.
