Biography
Peter Blair Dennis Bernard Noone, 5 November 1947, Manchester, England. After studying singing at the Manchester School of Music and Drama, the teenage Noone won a part in the television series Coronation Street. After taking up piano and guitar he talked his way into the Heartbeats, which later became Hermans Hermits. In the Herman guise, Noone scored a series of million-selling singles in the 60s before finally launching a solo career in 1970. A cover of David Bowies Oh! You Pretty Things made the UK Top 10, but subsequent releases were largely ignored. By 1980 he was fronting a more contemporary-sounding group, the Tremblers, but in spite of his change of image, no hits were forthcoming. Two years later he reverted to his original career, taking an acting role in The Pirates Of Penzance. He subsequently moved to the USA where he hosts a music television show
