27 July 1974, New Jersey, USA. This roots rock singer-songwriter and guitarist was one of the most unexpected commercial successes of the new millennium, breaking into the US charts in 2001 on the back of extensive live work and word-of-mouth sales. One of the most readily apparent influences on Yorns music is Bruce Springsteen. Yorns first instrument was the drums, and it was not until he relocated to Los Angeles (after a stint at Syracuse University) that people began to recognize his songwriting talents. Honing his act by playing the west coast for four years, Yorn was eventually rewarded by a recording contract with Columbia Records. Before a proper studio album could be issued, a Hollywood producer happened to hear a few Yorn tracks, and included several on the soundtrack for the Farrelly Brothers 2000 movie, Me, Myself & Irene.
