This Dutch heavy metal quartet was formed by guitarists Randy Meinhard and Patrick Mameli in 1986. Enlisting the services of Marco Foddis (drums) and Martin van Drunen (vocals/bass), they debuted with a track on the Teutonic Invasion II compilation (1987) on the Rock Hard label. A contract with Roadrunner Records ensued and they recorded Malleus Maleficarum, a high-speed thrash metal blur reminiscent of Slayer and Testament.
Meinhard quit soon after the album was released to form Sacrosanct. Ex-Theriac guitarist Patrick Uterwijk stepped in as replacement and the band entered the studio to record Consuming Impulse. This marked a distinct technical and musical improvement over their enthusiastic, but slightly amateurish, debut, and a move towards a more pronounced death metal sound.
