Biography

This lo-fi rock outfit has gone by numerous other names thus far in its career, but despite the name changes, multi-instrumentalist and founder David Pajo (1968, Texas, USA) has been in attendance for all. A veteran of the Louisville, Kentucky-based alternative rock scene, by 1995 Pajo was ready to launch his own band, what would eventually become Papa M. In addition to Pajo's guitar playing, the band's original line-up comprised Andy Willis (guitar), Cassie Marrett (bass), and Ray Rizzo (drums). This quartet issued a single with Laetitia Sadier of Stereolab under the name M Is The Thirteenth Letter. Up next was an instrumental recording completed by Pajo under the alias of Aerial M, which was followed up by a European and US tour and two CD singles ("M Is '" and "October").

Pajo issued another Aerial M release (the remix project Post Global Music) before deciding to go with the Papa M moniker, issuing 1999's Live From A Shark's Cage and...
