One of the best Goldsmith scores
Music Lover: Bradley Ross from United States -- July, 27, 2008
Written by the Oscar winning composer Jerry Goldsmith(1976-The Omen) Poltergeist was a landmark soundtrack of the early 80's. This suspense/horror score is still considered to be one of the best works of his career. The music is at times dark, dissonant, and powerfully frightening("Rebirth" is my personal favorite), but also has many warm and light moments("Carol Anne's Theme) showing Goldsmith's ability to once again have incredible dynamics and yet a sense of continuity simultaneously. Poltergeist is also considered to be one of the greatest horror scores of all time, right along side Jaws, The Omen, and Psycho.
