Nurse with Wound
The late 70s saw the emergence of several UK bands that would influence a legion of industrial bands a decade later, acts such as Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, and countless lesser-known ones, including Londons Nurse With Wound. Like the aforementioned acts, Nurse With Wound contained elements of what would one day be dubbed industrial music, but they also incorporated other styles into their sound, namely ambient and groundbreaking artists such as the Velvet Underground, Kraftwerk, and Frank Zappa. Formed in 1978 in London, England, Nurse With Wounds original line-up comprised Steve Stapleton (guitar, vocals, synthesizer), John Fothergill (synthesizer, guitar), and Heman Pathak (synthesizer, guitar). 1979 saw the release of their debut recording, Chance Meeting , an album that was originally limited to only 500 copies, but went on to become an underground classic.
