Biography
During the summer of 1986 several former students at Ithaca College, New York, began performing together. Initially, there were six singers and seven instrumentalists and they appeared successfully in the USA and also at a number of European venues, including the Montreux International Jazz and the North Sea festivals. The following year, four of the singers, Darmon Meader, Peter Eldridge, Kim Nazarian and Caprice Fox, met up with another singer, Sara Krieger, in New York and decided to form New York Voices. After intensive preparation, their first concert was at New Yorks Town Hall early in 1988 and they swiftly developed a local following. A year later, signed to GRP Records, they consolidated their popularity on the east coast and also widened their appeal through national and international touring.
